Big Pink Morganite From Shigar Valley Pakistan Beryl Hotness

Morganite is the pink to peach variety of beryl (same family as aquamarine, emerald, and heliodor). It gets its color from traces of manganese. It typically forms in pegmatites, often alongside tourmaline, aquamarine, and spodumene.

Crystal Habit: Often found in well-defined hexagonal crystals or blocky forms

Many morganite crystals from Shigar are found at over 13,000 feet elevation, carried down by hand or mule through treacherous mountain paths. Some miners wrap crystals in fabric and hike miles just to transport a single piece.
