PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This material is a pseudomorph meaning one mineral has replaced another but kept the original crystal’s shape. In this case:

Calcite formed first → then quartz replaced it, preserving the calcite’s rhombohedral or scalenohedral crystal form, but now it’s quartz.

The pink color comes from hematite inclusions or iron oxide staining within or on the quartz.

The pink quartz pseudomorphs are a less common find and usually occur in association with pyrite and sphalerite veins.

Huanzala is famous for its pyrite, but these pink quartz pseudomorphs often came from deeper oxidized pockets that miners discarded at first because they weren’t valuable ore. Collectors later realized what they were and now they’re sought after because no new pockets have produced them in years.

The Metaphysical Vibes:
Pink quartz from Huanzala doesn’t behave like fluffy rose quartz — it has more presence, earthiness, and alchemical energy because of the replacement process and hematite influence.
